Job summary

Florida Blue is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, HVAC, mechanical, life safety and plumbing systems. You will operate industrial HVAC systems, life safety systems, and BAS, with duties including furniture setups and light carpentry.

The role requires 3+ years in building systems maintenance, a high school diploma, and ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and nights.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of maintenance experience on building systems (HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing).
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Knowledge of chiller plant operations and basic HVAC maintenance.
  • Knowledge of electrical operations and maintenance.
  • Experience reading blueprints and MEP plans.
  • Experience with pump, bearing and fan motor replacements.
  • Experience identifying and replacing faulty plumbing components.
  • Experience using a computer in a Windows environment.
  • Must qualify as Regular Driver per Vehicle Use Policy 4.16.
  • Able to work variable shifts, nights, weekends, overtime and holidays.

  • Must be able to work flexible shifts that will include weekends
  • This role with have multiple shifts
    • 2 shifts 11pm Friday - 11PM Saturday & 11PM Saturday to 11AM Sunday
    • 2 shifts 11pm Sunday - 7am Monday & 11pm Monday - 7am Tuesday
What You Will Be Doing
  • Perform preventive maintenance on building engineering systems.
  • Diagnose and perform corrective maintenance on building engineering systems.
  • Build, modify, and repair furniture per provided drawings. Conduct large room setups for conferences.
  • Operate and repair HVAC, mechanical, life safety, electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Monitor vendor’s performance of major equipment systems maintenance
  • Perform light carpentry and electrical work such as painting, drywall repairs and ballast changes.
  • Monitor and operate critical facilities equipment using Automated Building Management System and inform management of any abnormalities discovered.
What We Require
  • 3+ years related work experience in: building systems (HVAC, electro-mechanical, etc.) maintenance and repair
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of chiller plant operations and basic maintenance of HVAC systems.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical operations and maintenance.
  • Experience reading blueprints and Mechanical, Electrical and plumbing plans.
  • Experience with pump, bearing, and fan motor replacements
  • Experience Identifying and replacing faulty plumbing components.
  • Experience working on a computer in a Windows environment.
  • Must meet the requirements to be classified as a Regular Driver in accordance with Vehicle Use Policy Number 4.16.
  • Must be able to work variable shifts, night, and weekend shift rotations, including overtime and holidays.
What We Prefer
  • Experience with emergency generating systems.
  • Experience with Automated Building Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of UPS systems and operations.
  • Experience with HVAC equipment repairs
  • Experience with troubleshooting and repair of industrial kitchen equipment.
General Physical Demands
  • Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently.
Physical/Environmental Activities
  • Must be able to travel to multiple locations for work (i.e. travel to attend meetings, events, conferences).
  • Occasionally May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions of cold, heat, wet, and humidity.
  • Frequently May be exposed to outdoor or warehouse conditions of loud noises, vibration, fumes, dust, odors, and mists.
  • Frequently Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, or other equipment.
