Job summary

Hospitality at Work is seeking a Maintenance Technician to oversee the maintenance, operation, and management of a commercial office building's systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety, ensuring efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance for tenants and visitors.

The role requires a high school diploma, 5–7 years in building maintenance, trade classes preferred, EMS experience, and the ability to work independently or with the management team.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to think logically to resolve maintenance issues.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with building engineering and management teams.
  • Communicate effectively with engineering team, tenants, and vendors.
  • High school diploma required.
  • 5–7 years of commercial office building maintenance experience.
  • Trade classes in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, controls preferred.
  • Energy Management System experience.
  • Pneumatic controls experience beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct building tours, logging equipment status and EMS readings.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Use hand and power tools for minor equipment repairs.
  • Respond to tenant service requests.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Make repairs to plumbing fixtures such as valves, sinks, and toilets.
  • Conduct lighting tours; replace lamps and ballasts as required.
  • Be available for after-hours rotating on-call duties.

Job description

Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance, operation, and management of a commercial office building's systems and infrastructure. This includes HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and other building systems. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the building operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all regulations, providing tenants and visitors with a safe and comfortable work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct building tours, logging equipment status, and EMS readings.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Use hand and power tools in making minor equipment repairs.
  • Responding to tenant service requests.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to the building's mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Make repairs to plumbing fixtures such as automatic flush valves, automatic sink faucets, replace commodes and urinals.
  • Conduct building lighting tours. Replace lamps and ballasts as required.
  • The candidate must be available for after-hours rotating on-call duties.

  • Pneumatic controls experience (beneficial but not required)

Compensation: $28.00 - $35.00/hour, plus annual discretionary bonus.
