Job summary

Weidner Apartment Homes is seeking a Service Technician 2 in Sun Prairie, WI. You will service vacant and occupied units, handling painting, drywall repairs and various maintenance tasks.

You’ll work on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and carpentry, ensuring safety and quality while supporting resident satisfaction. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of maintenance and painting experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and a track record of timely, reliable work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years maintenance experience required.
• 3-5 years of painting and drywall repairs required.
• High degree of mechanical aptitude; able to perform complex repairs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vacant apartments for occupancy: painting, drywall, repairs.
• Independently repair electrical, plumbing, water heaters, HVAC, appliances.
• Perform carpentry, drywall, interior/exterior painting tasks.
• Identify paint sheen/color and determine full vs touch-up needs.
• Repair flooring (plank, vinyl, carpet) as needed.
• Process resident service requests promptly with minimal supervision.
• Work across electrical, plumbing, boilers, and HVAC with minimal assistance.
• Contribute to preventive maintenance and safety protocols.
• Maintain pools, logs, and chemical balance as required.
• Assist with grounds maintenance and snow removal when applicable.
• Utilize company apps and travel between properties; participate in on-call rotation.
