Job summary

The Community Builders, Inc. is seeking a Service Technician II to maintain and repair apartment communities. Reporting to the Service Maintenance Manager, you will handle interior and exterior tasks, respond to service requests, and support Northampton properties while working five days a week in the College Highway location.

You will apply building trades skills, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure safety and high standards of resident service, with weekend/on-call duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; trade school or 3 years in property management or hospitality.
• Minimum 3 years of advanced hands-on repair experience in two building trades.
• REAC/HQS experience preferred.
• Industry-Trade certifications/degrees (NAHMS, CAMT, OSHA, HVAC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and perform repairs for appliances, carpentry, hardware, masonry, painting, basic electrical, plumbing and HVAC.
• Respond and complete all service requests and on-call emergencies promptly, as directed by management.
• Monitor vendor preventive maintenance tasks for building systems and equipment.
• Prepare and repair vacant apartments for new resident move-ins.
• Maintain grounds and common spaces including cleaning, trash, landscaping and snow removal.
• Prepare repairs for REAC/HQS inspections and audits.
• Maintain shop and inventory with a safety mindset and PPE.
• Available for weekend work, on-call rotation, and emergency service duties.
• Provide technical guidance to Maintenance Tech I.
