Job summary

Conagra Brands in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Maintenance Technician to uphold production equipment and support reliable operations at our bakery plant. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, assist with repairs, and support maintenance on production lines.

Reports to the Maintenance Planner and Manager. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance tasks, troubleshooting electrical and production equipment, coordinating maintenance plans, and working with contractors

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of maintenance experience in a production/manufacturing environment with automated machinery.
• Ability to read blueprints for maintenance tasks.
• Experience supporting maintenance on production lines is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance: Prepare equipment for operation and complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot equipment: diagnose issues, maintain, and repair electrical and production equipment.
• Support production: provide maintenance support to keep production lines running smoothly.
• Plan scheduled work: review schedules and identify needed equipment and supplies.
• Coordinate maintenance activities: manage shift turnovers and assign tasks with supervisors.
• Respond to equipment needs: address emergency and non-emergency maintenance.
• Use maintenance software to log tasks and support efficient production flow.
• Read blueprints to support maintenance tasks.
• Work with outside contractors performing work in the facility.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Shift: 6:00 PM-6:30 AM Hourly Rate: $32.92 an hour + $0.50 shift differential

Do You Have a Taste for Something Big? As a Maintenance Technician you will help maintain production equipment and support reliable operations at our Indianapolis Bakery plant. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, assist with repairs and provide maintenance support to production lines. You will report to the Maintenance Planner and Maintenance Manager.

A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing

• Perform preventive maintenance: Prepare equipment for operation and complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot equipment: Troubleshoot, maintain and install electrical and production equipment and assist with repairs.
• Support production: Respond to line calls and provide maintenance support to help keep production equipment operating efficiently.
• Plan scheduled work: Review work schedules and confirm the equipment and supplies needed to complete assigned maintenance work.
• Coordinate maintenance activities: Conduct shift turnovers, review assigned tasks and pending equipment issues and provide input to supervisors to support maintenance scheduling.
• Respond to equipment needs: Review and respond to emergency and non-emergency maintenance situations.
• Support maintenance operations: Use maintenance software to complete preventive maintenance activities and support an efficient flow of production.
• Read technical information: Read and understand blueprints to support maintenance and equipment work.
• Work with contractors: Provide guidance to outside contractors performing work in the facility.
• Support continuous improvement: Participate in the Conagra Performance System.

Ingredients Required for Success

At least 6 months of maintenance experience in a production, manufacturing, or distribution environment with automated machinery.

Physical Requirements

More information about the essential tasks and facility will be shared during the hiring process. In a manufacturing environment, noise levels can be high and temperatures may vary. Depending on the work being performed, physical and environmental requirements may include: Being on your feet and walking throughout the facility for extended periods. Climbing stairs or ladders and kneeling as needed. Performing repetitive tasks. Frequently lifting, pushing or carrying materials.
