Job summary

Conagra Brands is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Centralia, IL facility. You will perform preventive maintenance across manufacturing operations, troubleshoot and repair plant equipment, and ensure safe, efficient operation in a high-demand environment.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED (or a two-year technical degree) and at least two years of maintenance experience in manufacturing. PLC operation, motor controls, welding, and SAP proficiency are important.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or a two-year technical degree is required.
• Experience with PLC operation and basic troubleshooting.
• Experience with motor controls, systems diagnostics, and fabrication processes (welding, grinding, assembly).
• Strong communication, teamwork, and flexibility to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Replace, repair, adjust, and modify mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic equipment.
• Maintain and repair conveyors, production machinery, and plant equipment.
• Monitor production lines and proactively troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Test parts and systems; document modifications.
• Initiate corrective actions to prevent nonconformities in food safety, quality, or safety.
• Read and update technical drawings; refer to manufacturer manuals for servicing.
• Support outside contractors with repairs and installations.
• Create, manage, and close work orders in SAP; inventory control and requisitions in SAP.
• Follow plant safety and food safety policies; perform other duties as assigned.

Shift: 3:45 PM-12:15 AM Hourly Rate: $30.00 an hour + $.50 shift differential Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will perform preventive maintenance activities across manufacturing operations while troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing plant equipment and systems. You will support reliable production, maintain compliance with food safety requirements, and help ensure safe, efficient operation of manufacturing equipment throughout the facility.

A Taste of Your Responsibilities

• Replace, repair, adjust, and modify mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic equipment.
• Maintain and repair conveyor systems, production machinery, and plant equipment.
• Monitor assigned production lines and proactively troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Test parts, assemblies, and systems to ensure proper operation and document modifications.
• Identify, document, and initiate corrective actions to prevent food safety, quality, or safety nonconformities.
• Read, interpret, and update technical drawings and specifications while utilizing manufacturer manuals for equipment servicing and installation.
• Support outside contractors and specialists with repairs, installations, and system modifications.
• Create, manage, and close work orders while maintaining accurate records in SAP.
• Control inventory, order parts and tools, and submit requisitions using SAP.
• Follow all plant safety, food safety, and company policies and procedures while performing other assigned duties.

Ingredients Required for Your Success

• Willingness to work overtime, including weekends.
• High School diploma or GED and at least two years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, or a two-year technical degree.
• Experience with programmable logic controller operation, basic troubleshooting, motor controls, and system diagnostics.
• Experience with fabrication processes including welding, grinding, and assembly.
• Strong communication skills, teamwork, independent problem-solving skills, and flexibility to work overtime and weekends as business needs require.

Physical Requirements

• Being on your feet, walking around the facility, climbing stairs/ladders or kneeling for extended periods of time.

• Frequently lifting, pushing or carrying materials.
