Job summary

Virnig Manufacturing is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to support our Fort Madison, Iowa operations. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work independently while coordinating with production teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Technical, vocational, or trade school training preferred.
• Experience in industrial/manufacturing maintenance required.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals.
• Experience with hand/power tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Forklift and hoist experience required.
• Basic computer skills.
• Understanding of OSHA regulations and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment including lasers, press brakes, CNC machines, and other production equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Provide preventative maintenance to maximize reliability and uptime.
• Assist with equipment upgrades, modifications, and installations.
• Maintain building systems including doors, lighting, HVAC, plumbing.
• Support material handling equipment maintenance and inspections.
• Adhere to lockout/tagout procedures and conduct safety inspections.
