Job summary

Advance Auto Parts, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Center Maintenance I Technician to perform general and preventive maintenance on equipment, machinery, structures and grounds in a distribution center environment.

The role covers basic repairs on equipment, electrical work, routine maintenance, building upkeep and assisting skilled technicians with pipe systems, hydraulics and pneumatics, following safety guidelines and using CMMS for parts and work orders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; one to two years related experience and/or training; minimum one year of maintenance experience preferred.
• Must possess or pass the Basic Mechanical and Industrial Mechanical Skill Assessment.
• Read and interpret MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets).
• Knowledge of conveyor systems, security controls, fire protection, HVAC, lighting, electrical and related equipment.
• Ability to follow safety rules and wear PPE as required.
• Able to read blueprints/diagrams and use CMMS for parts and work orders.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs on equipment.
• Install/repair electrical apparatus such as transformers, lights, outlets, circuit breakers and wiring.
• Perform routine maintenance like changing light bulbs and cleaning equipment.
• Paint and perform building/grounds maintenance incl. plumbing and carpentry.
• Inspect and perform maintenance on material handling batteries, conveyors and related systems.
• Assist skilled personnel with pipe systems, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Assist with preventive maintenance using blueprints and manuals while following safety guidelines.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions.
• Store hazardous materials properly at end of shift or when not in use.
• Work various shifts and overtime as required.
