Job summary

Amcor Rigid Packaging is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to observe production equipment, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and perform repairs. The role includes dismantling machinery, ordering parts, lubrication, safety compliance, and training staff.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, ability to read blueprints, and working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical controls.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college/technical education preferred.
• Must read and understand blueprints, drawings, layouts, and equipment manuals.
• Thorough knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical controls; troubleshoot from schematics.
• Shop math and use of calipers and micrometers.
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Able to work all shifts, required overtime, and short notice.
• Must wear safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat or bump cap, gloves, steel-toed shoes.

Responsibilities

• Observe production machinery, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, locate causes, and repair.
• Dismantle machinery and replace defective parts using hand/power tools.
• Order materials and parts needed for service/repair of equipment and facility.
• Lubricate and clean machinery and equipment.
• Maintain safe work environment and follow safety policies.
• Train department staff and learn new on-the-job skills as opportunities arise.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
