Job summary

Raleigh Housing Authority is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair, clean, and service appliances and equipment across the Authority's residences and buildings. The role involves performing preventive maintenance, basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC tasks to ensure units are turn-key ready for occupancy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in building maintenance or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

• Completes general maintenance duties such as repairing and replacing doors, door jambs, storm doors, screens, and windows; general repairs to counters, cabinets, and floors.
• Plans and organizes daily work routine and reviews work orders.
• Troubleshoots and prioritizes tasks, obtains supplies, and completes tasks independently.
• Prepares units to be turn-key ready and cleans and updates units for next occupant.
• Repairs or replaces bathroom fixtures and water heaters; caulks around tubs, counters, showers, and sinks.
