City of Douglas seeks a Pool Operator to protect health and safety of the swimming public, manage water balances, and prevent scaling and corrosion of pools, pipes, heaters and pumps.
The role includes facility maintenance at the aquatic center and 8th Street pool, operating filtration, disinfecting, and chemically treating city pools.
JOB SUMMARY: Protects the health and safety of the swimming public and maintains proper saturation indexes to determine water balances, prevent scaling and/or corrosion of city pools, pipes, pool heaters and pump equipment. This position also provides facility maintenance to the aquatic center and 8th street pool as well as operates the filtration system, disinfects and chemically treats city swimming pools.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Arizona driver’s license. High School Diploma or G.E.D and three years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of swimming pools.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Residency within sixty miles of the corporate limits of the City of Douglas, within the United States, required within a reasonable time after hire date. Pool Operator and Aquatic Facility Operator certified during probationary period; CPR certification must be maintained; and must attend Aquatic Systems Seminars, and other workshops on public swimming pool operation/maintenance and auxiliary equipment to maintain certifications current.
EVALUATION METHOD: The Human Resources Manager will initially screen applications for minimum qualifications according to training and experience as provided on employment application. Selected candidates will be invited to participate in an evaluation process.
