Job summary

Sun City West Inc. is seeking an experienced pool maintenance technician for part-time work in Kentucky. The role focuses on maintaining equipment, balancing water chemistry, and ensuring compliance with county health codes.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a wide range of equipment and tools related to the assigned area of responsibility; perform routine preventative maintenance.
  • Balance water chemistry and prepare service reports of materials used and work performed.
  • Clean and repair filter systems.
  • Keep accurate records on pool chemistry and temperature readings at all facilities.
  • Inspect decks and perform minor repairs on decks and deck drains.
  • Inspect and replace loose, missing, or damaged tiles.
  • Make adjustments and perform minor repairs to heating and pumping equipment.
  • Interact professionally with community members who utilize the facilities.
  • Maintain attendance and punctuality; work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (This list is not intended to detail all aspects of the assigned work but is representative of the job’s overall responsibilities.)
  • Maintain a wide range of equipment, and tools related to the assigned area of responsibility; perform routine preventative maintenance functions.
  • Add chemicals, in prescribed amounts, to balance water body to meet County Health Codes. Prepare service reports of materials used, and work performed.
  • Clean and repair filter systems.
  • Keep accurate records on all pool chemistry and temperature readings at all facilities.
  • Perform inspection of pool decks and perform any minor repairs needed on decks and deck drains.
  • Inspect and replace loose, missing, or damaged tiles.
  • Makes necessary adjustments and performs minor repairs to heating and pumping equipment.
  • Requires personal, professional and courteous interactions with community members who utilize the facilities or who may ask questions regarding the facilities.
  • Maintains a consistent record of onsite acceptable attendance and punctuality according to policy guidelines and can work a flexible work schedule to include evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assumes leadership responsibilities when Tech I or laborers are assigned to the job or project.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous commercial pool experience required
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, installation instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of the organization
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Valid Arizona driver's license and good driving record for insurance purposes.
  • Holds and maintains a Certified Pool Operators Certificate
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, balance, ability for prolonged standing and walking; use hands to finger, handle, grasp, pull, push, or feel; reach with hands and arms above shoulders; ability to talk or hear and an ability to taste and smell.

The employee may be required to climb or balance by using a ladder.

Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and an ability to adjust focus.

Ability to complete orders quickly and accurately.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and have an ability to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds or more with assistance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving machinery, mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, cleaning chemicals; works in locations off the ground and is exposed to wet and humid condition in both indoor and outside weather conditions.

The employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock.

Employees are provided training for handling and use as well as proper personal protective equipment supplied by the association.

The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; and extreme heat.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
