Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, in Scranton, seeks a Maintenance Repairman 2 to help keep the Gino J. Merli Veterans' Center in excellent working order. The role covers carpentry, electrical, plumbing, climate control, and grounds maintenance, emphasizing safety and teamwork.

The position is full-time (37.5 hours/week) on 2:00 PM–10:00 PM shift, Monday–Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework is not available.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 or four years of building/plant maintenance experience involving trades; equivalent combos accepted.

Responsibilities

• Carpentry tasks: repair doors/furniture, fabricate partitions, use power tools.
• Electrical repairs: install/repair circuits, outlets, lighting, fans, motors.
• Plumbing tasks: repair fixtures, clear drains, install water/steam pipes.
• Maintain heating, cooling, refrigeration units.
• Groundskeeping: lawn care, shrubbery, snow/debris clearance.
• Follow safety procedures and support quality improvements.
