Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, seeks a Maintenance Repairman 2 for the Gino J. Merli Veterans' Center in Scranton (Lackawanna County). This hands-on role keeps buildings and equipment safe and reliable to support veterans, their spouses, and staff.

Responsibilities include carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, groundskeeping, and safety tasks. Requires two years as MRM1 or four years in building/plant maintenance and a PA Class C Driver's License.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 or four years of experience in building/plant maintenance with at least two trades (building, electrical, or mechanical).
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry tasks such as repairing doors and furniture, fabricating partitions, and using power tools.
• Install and repair electrical circuits, outlets, lighting fixtures, fans, and motors.
• Repair plumbing fixtures, clear clogged drains, and install pipe for water and steam lines.
• Maintain and repair heating, cooling, and refrigeration units of various types.
• Cut grass, trim shrubbery, perform landscaping tasks, and clear snow and debris from outdoor areas.
• Follow safety procedures, report hazards, maintain tools, and support facility quality improvement efforts.
