Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in maintenance, preferably in a pharmaceutical setting.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical background preferred.

Job Description
About the role:

The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting process and electrical equipment that support the manufacturing process areas. Strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), cGMPs, and Quality Standards in a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing facility are mandatory. Primary responsibilities include ensuring safe and efficient hands-on maintenance of manufacturing and utilities systems including but not limited to WFI, RO, vessels, and components such as pumps, fans, valves, etc.

How You Will Contribute
  • Inspects, repairs and maintains facility structures and equipment (Packaging Line, CIP Skids) as directed by immediate supervisor and/or as assigned through work orders.
  • Support the manufacturing floor by aiding in setting up CIPs, COPs and equipment LOTOs.
  • Perform preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance through CMMS system.
  • Provide troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair of process systems, equipment and components including valves, pumps, gearboxes, VFDs, utility skids, cleaning and support equipment.
  • Complete work in accordance with cGMPs, SOPs, job plans, and company policies.
  • Develop, review, and revise SOPs or work plans for related areas.
  • Assist in maintaining an up-to-date spare parts inventory.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of logs and work orders.
  • Support start-up of new equipment to meet design specifications.
  • Develop basic proficiency in advanced maintenance technologies (alignment, thermography, ultrasound, etc.) and apply them to improve reliability.
  • Support equipment start-up after maintenance activities and during calibrations.
  • Follow safety rules and comply with EPA regulations and laws.
  • Attend required training and meetings.
  • Other functions as assigned.
What You Bring To Takeda
  • Typically requires a high school diploma or GED, with 2+ years of experience.
  • Trade School Certificate, strong mechanical and electrical background (up to 480VAC) preferred.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Constructive interaction with peers and teams.
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
  • Troubleshooting knowledge of equipment and utilities.
  • Understanding of control systems and TPM concepts.
Other Job Requirements
  • Work in cold, wet, dusty, or chemically hazardous environments.
  • Climb into tanks, work around moving machinery, and wear PPE.
  • Work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays, with possible overtime.
Important Considerations

Compliance with PPE, clean room protocols, and safety regulations is required. Work may involve exposure to chemicals and working in various environmental conditions. Flexibility in shift work is necessary.

Shift Requirements

2-2-3 rotation, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly wage range: $18.85 - $29.62, with eligibility for incentives, insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and other benefits. Actual pay depends on experience and location.
