Job summary

Texas Disposal Systems is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to perform scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance and lubrication on industrial equipment, trucks, trailers, and facilities. You will also handle minor repairs, inspect quality, and follow established checklists and guidelines.

Responsibilities include using PPE, reporting safety violations, and complying with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Own basic tools and the ability to acquire tools on hire.
• Mechanical aptitude with demonstrated ability to maintain/repair equipment.
• Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
• Learn basic computer skills to document daily work, procurements, and repair status.
• Attention to detail and alertness to ensure safety.

Responsibilities

• Wear PPE as required.
• Report safety violations and correct unsafe acts or conditions.
• Comply with safety policies and applicable regulations.
• Drive vehicle with GVW not exceeding 26,000 pounds if required.
• Assist with maintenance repairs as directed.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks as directed.
• Document repair operations and time tracking.
• Learn basic mechanical techniques, torques, and procedures.
• Requisition parts as necessary.
• Conduct failure analyses and report findings to maintenance management.
• Wash trucks and equipment and keep shop areas clean.
• Handle minor tasks such as changing bulbs, wiper blades, mud flaps.
• Attend training sessions for continuing education.
• Other duties as assigned.
