Job summary

Veolia North America, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to inspect, maintain and repair mechanical and electromechanical equipment at plants and pump stations in Ohio. You will operate centrifuges, dump trucks, and sewer jet vehicles, performing preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting under supervision.

The role requires ability to read instructions, work in a team, and follow safety/environmental policies. On-call coverage and hands-on training are part of the job.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with ability to read, write and comprehend English and follow instructions.
• 6 months to 2 years of related experience and ability to read specs, blueprints and manuals.
• Experience using power, pneumatic, hydraulic, and hand tools; drill press, band saw and torque wrench preferred.
• Experience using material handling equipment, pressure gauges and precision measuring instruments.

Responsibilities

• Operate centrifuge and drive a 10 ton dump truck and sewer jet truck; inspect lift stations and perform repairs.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on pumps, engines, valves, and related equipment; report issues promptly.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic equipment; dismantle and reassemble for repairs.
• Perform facility maintenance such as replacing bulbs, cleaning areas, and managing waste in accordance with safety policies.
• Cover on-call rotation for Water and Wastewater plants; estimate time and material costs for projects.
