Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to support facility operations in a Dallas area location. The role focuses on parking lot striping support and general site maintenance, including building upkeep, HVAC and basic repairs.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma, up to 2 years in related work, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. A valid driver's license and safety awareness are essential for daily tasks and team coordination.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Typically 0-2 years in a related field.
• Ability to perform light electrical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC repairs.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Medium strength; ability to lift 1–50 pounds.
• Vision includes color vision and depth perception.

Responsibilities

• Maintain buildings, property, and equipment for the site.
• Perform minor repairs and general maintenance on heating and air conditioning systems.
• Perform routine carpentry repairs on buildings and offices.
• Replace worn parts such as hoses, wiring, and belts.
• Operate snow removal equipment for parking lots and sidewalks.
• Ensure all equipment works correctly and is safe.
• Keep buildings clean and waste containers emptied.
• Maintain tools in good condition and follow safety rules.
• Adhere to safety procedures and support Safety Excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, including moving furniture.
• Overtime may be required as needed.

Hourly base pay rate is $18.17 - $27.31/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Focused On - Parking Lot Striping

Job Description:

• Maintain all buildings, property, equipment, and landscaping for the site.

• Perform minor repairs and general maintenance on heating and air conditioning system.

• Perform routine carpentry work in the repair and maintenance of buildings, offices, etc.

• Replace worn or damaged parts such as hoses, wiring, and belts, in machines and equipment.

• Operate snow removal equipment to maintain parking lots and sidewalks.

• Maintain all buildings, property, and equipment for the site.

• Ensure all equipment is working correctly and under standards for recon department.

• Ensure all buildings are kept clean.

• Empty and clean wastebaskets and trash containers.

• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and comply with applicable safety rules.

• Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such. Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.

• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, i.e., moving furniture, unloading, and storing supplies, etc.

• May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate

Qualifications:

Minimum

• High School Diploma/GED

• Generally, less than 2 years’ experience in a related field

• Skill and knowledge to perform light electrical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC repairs required.

• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.

• Good communication and organizational skills required.

• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.

• Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.

• Medium strength. Ability to lift 1-50 pounds.

• Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Preferred

• Familiar with Walk behind and ride lot striping machine.
