At Cox Automotive, we’re hiring an Auto Maintenance Tech I to perform repairs and routine maintenance on a variety of vehicles. You’ll work in a hands-on shop environment, building skills while contributing to a fast-paced team.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of related work experience.
• The ability to drive standard, automatic and electric vehicles.
• Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Gain familiarity with auto maintenance concepts and practices.
• Perform oil and filter changes, fuel filter changes, transmission flush, spark plugs and vehicle inspections.
• Perform battery testing, maintenance and replacement and testing of electrical systems.
• Repair tires, perform safety inspections and service interior/exterior components.
• Diagnose and repair brake, steering and suspension systems.
• Evacuate and recharge the A/C system.
• Maintain equipment and use approved vendors for parts.
• May upfit new vehicles with necessary equipment.
• Comply with procedures regarding recyclables, fluids, tires and waste.

Hourly base pay rate is $20.10 - $30.10/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

What You’ll Do

You’ll perform light duty work as an intermediate-level auto tech. You’ll improve your skills in a supportive environment. Other responsibilities include:

• Gain familiarity with auto maintenance concepts and practices.

• Performautomaintenancetech duties,includingoiland filter change, fuelfilterchange, transmissionflush, spark plugs andvehicle inspection.

• Performbatterytesting, maintenance and replacement and testing and repairing of starting and charging electrical systems.

• Perform various repairs including tires,safetyinspectionsandinterior/exteriorcomponents.

• Diagnoseand repair brake systems, steering and suspension systems.

• Perform an evacuation and recharge on the AC system.

• Perform maintenance on equipment.

• Utilize approved vendors to obtain parts.

• May up fit new vehicles with necessary equipment

• Complies with applicable procedures and regulations regarding recyclables, fluids, tires, and disposable trash.

Who You Are

You’re a quick learner – especially when it comes to cars and how they work. You’re a team player who always arrives at the shop ready to provide excellent work. You also have the following qualifications:
