Job summary

FedEx Industrial Maintenance is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to support material handling systems. You will perform preventative and predictive maintenance, diagnose mechanical issues, and assist with PLC/controls and welding tasks as you build skills. A safety-focused, team-driven role with potential flexible shifts.

Minimum education is a high school diploma or GED, plus basic mechanical aptitude. Candidates with related military or technical experience are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with minimum skill requirements.
• Demonstrated basic mechanical aptitude through background or hobbies in agriculture, automotive or other technical areas.
• In lieu of demonstrated mechanical aptitude, two years of FedEx Operations Sortation equipment knowledge will be considered.
• Related military technical experience and electrical or mechanical trade experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic preventative and predictive maintenance and repair of material handling systems.
• Diagnose simple mechanical power transmission issues visually or audibly at the single component level.
• Adhere to safety standards and attend trainings, addressing safety concerns.
• Require assistance/supervision in preventative/corrective maintenance tasks.
• Participate in smaller scope projects.
• May be required to work a flexible schedule including all days and shifts as needed.
