Job summary

FedEx is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to support industrial maintenance for material handling systems. You will perform preventative and predictive maintenance, troubleshoot basic mechanical power transmission, electrical and PLC/controls tasks, and assist with welding/fabrication.

The role emphasizes safety, requires a high school diploma or GED, and hands-on mechanical aptitude from hobbies or coursework; two years related FedEx operations knowledge may be considered; a flexible schedule

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Basic mechanical aptitude demonstrated through background or coursework.
Two years of FedEx Operations Sortation equipment knowledge or related technical studies may be considered.

Responsibilities

Provides basic preventative and predictive maintenance and repair of material handling systems focused on mechanical power transmission.
Diagnoses simple mechanical power transmission issues visually or audibly at the component level.
Adheres to safety standards and participates in required trainings and safety meetings.
Requires supervision for preventative/corrective maintenance tasks.
May participate in smaller scope projects.
May work a flexible schedule including all days and shifts as business needs dictate.
