Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to support the Industrial Maintenance team for material handling, performing preventative and predictive maintenance and repair on material handling systems, and working with mechanical power transmission, electrical/PLC controls, welding and fabrication.

You will diagnose simple mechanical power transmission issues, follow safety standards, participate in small improvement projects, and adapt to a flexible schedule as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with minimum skill requirements.
• Demonstrated basic mechanical aptitude through background or hobbies in agriculture, automotive or other technical areas.
• In lieu of demonstrated mechanical aptitude, two years of FedEx Operations Sortation equipment knowledge or enrollment in Industrial Maintenance/Mechatronics program will be considered.
• Related military technical experience and electrical or mechanical trade experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic preventative and predictive maintenance and repair of material handling systems in mechanical power transmission and electrical/PLC controls, welding/fabrication.
• Diagnose simple mechanical power transmission issues visually or audibly at the single component level.
• Adhere to safety standards and attend trainings to promote a safe work environment.
• May require supervision in preventive/corrective maintenance tasks.
• May participate in smaller scope projects.
• May work a flexible schedule including all days and shifts as business needs dictate.
