Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team. You will repair, maintain, install and troubleshoot industrial equipment, systems and components in a Monday–Friday week with occasional nights/weekends. On-the-job training is provided to support career growth within a 1.5-billion-dollar organization.

You will use hand tools, read blueprints, perform safety checks and operate CMMS to keep facilities running smoothly. Lifting up to 80 lbs and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Knowledgeable in maintenance equipment.
• Minimum 6 months of work experience repairing industrial equipment.
• Must pass UniFirst’s maintenance knowledge test.
• Ability to read blueprints/schematics.
• Ability to read English maintenance literature.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Lockout/Tagout experience required.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand/power tools and precision measurement devices.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery and related systems.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues using measuring and testing tools.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pretreatment testing and adjust chemicals as needed.
• Conduct daily/weekly safety checks on boilers and repair as required.
• Record and analyze utility meter readings and take corrective actions.
• Perform daily/weekly location/system safety checks and address concerns.
• Inspect, replace filters, belts, lubricate components as needed.
• Inspect and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other parts per procedures.
• Use Computerized Maintenance Management System for records.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
