Job summary

Crest Industries in Eunice, LA is seeking a Maintenance Technician I for the Weekend Shift to support our production lines. The ideal candidate will have a background in maintaining electronic and electrical equipment, reading blueprints, schematics, and tape measures, and experience with CNC and PLC systems.

Responsibilities include monitoring and repairing production equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and documenting maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and tape measures.
• Experience with CNC and PLC systems is required.
• Strong communication within an industrial environment.
• Capable of working on weekend shifts and on-site facilities.

• Troubleshoots and repairs minor equipment malfunctions on (critical) machines.
• Disassembles machine prior to maintenance work.

• Inspects or tests damaged machine parts and advises repair needs.
• Lubricates or applies adhesives or other materials to machines as specified.
• Performs scheduled preventative maintenance.
• Records production, repair, and machine maintenance information.

The Maintenance Technician I must be capable of performing industrial maintenance.

This individual should be knowledgeable of maintenance related duties.

The Maintenance Technician I is required to have a background in working with electronic and electrical equipment.

Experience with software, CNC, and PLC is required position.

This individual must be able to communicate well within an industrial culture.

Strong mechanical aptitude.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Monitors and maintains production equipment with or without direct supervision
• Can troubleshoot and repair minor equipment malfunctions on (critical) machines
• Disassembles machine prior to maintenance work
• Reassembles machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work
• Starts machines and observes mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems
• Inspects or tests damaged machine parts, and marks defective areas or advises supervisors of repair needs
• Lubricates or applies adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures
• Installs, replaces, or changes machine parts and attachments, according to manufacturer specifications on (critical) machines
• Dismantles machines and removes parts for repair, using specified tools
• Records production, repair, and machine maintenance information
• Reads work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance
• Collaborates with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment
• Performs scheduled preventative maintenance
• Ability to repair tools and small engines

Requirements For Maintenance Technician i

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to interpret blueprints required
• Ability to read a tape measure required
• Ability to read schematics required
• 2 + years of prior industrial maintenance experience required
• Hydraulic and electrical background experience required
• Communication in an industrial environment required
• Experience with software, CNC, and PLC is required
• Regular, reliable attendance is required
• Computer knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other program required.
