Responsibilities

• Monitors and maintains production equipment with or without direct supervision.
• Troubleshoots and repairs minor equipment malfunctions on critical machines.
• Disassembles machines prior to maintenance work.
• Reassembles machines after repair or maintenance work.
• Starts machines and observes operation to detect problems.
• Inspects or tests damaged machine parts and advises repair needs.
• Lubricates or applies materials to machines per procedures.
• Installs, replaces, or changes machine parts per manufacturer specs on critical machines.
• Dismantles machines and removes parts for repair.
• Records production, repair, and maintenance information.
• Reads work orders/specifications to determine machines needing repair.
• Collaborates with others to repair or move machines or parts.
• Performs scheduled preventive maintenance.
• Ability to repair tools and small engines.

DIS-TRAN Steel is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join the team in Eunice on our Weekend Shift . The Maintenance Technician I must be capable of performing industrial maintenance. This individual should be knowledgeable of maintenance related duties. The Maintenance Technician I is required to have a background in working with electronic and electrical equipment. Experience with software, CNC, and PLC is required position. This individual must be able to communicate well within an industrial culture. Strong mechanical aptitude

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitors and maintains production equipment with or without direct supervision.
• Can troubleshoot and repair minor equipment malfunctions on (critical) machines.
• Disassembles machine prior to maintenance work.
• Reassembles machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work.
• Starts machines and observes mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems.
• Inspects or tests damaged machine parts, and marks defective areas or advises supervisors of repair needs.
• Lubricates or applies adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures.
• Installs, replaces, or changes machine parts and attachments, according to manufacturer specifications on (critical) machines.
• Dismantles machines and removes parts for repair, using specified tools.
• Records production, repair, and machine maintenance information.
• Reads work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
• Collaborates with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment.
• Performs scheduled preventative maintenance.
• Ability to repair tools and small engines

REQUIREMENTS FOR MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN I

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to interpret blueprints required.
• Ability to read a tape measure required.
• Ability to read schematics required
• 2 + years of prior industrial maintenance experience required.
• Hydraulic and electrical background experience required.
• Communication in an industrial environment required.
• Experience with software, CNC, and PLC is required.
• Regular, reliable attendance is required.
• Computer knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other program required.
