Job summary

DIS-TRAN Steel in Eunice, LA is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Weekend Shift. The role requires experience with electrical and electronic equipment, and a background in industrial maintenance.

You will read blueprints, interpret schematics, and perform preventative maintenance on production equipment while troubleshooting and repairing issues to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and record maintenance data.

DIS-TRAN Steel is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join the team in Eunice on our Weekend Shift. The Maintenance Technician I must be capable of performing industrial maintenance. This individual should be knowledgeable of maintenance related duties. The Maintenance Technician I is required to have a background in working with electronic and electrical equipment. Experience with software, CNC, and PLC is required position. This individual must be able to communicate well within an industrial culture. Strong mechanical aptitude

  • Performs quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
  • Interacts professionally with other employees and customers.
  • Works effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
  • Works independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
  • Communicates regularly with supervisor about Department issues.
  • Monitors and maintains production equipment with or without direct supervision.
  • Can troubleshoot and repair minor equipment malfunctions on (critical) machines.
  • Disassembles machine prior to maintenance work.
  • Reassembles machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work.
  • Starts machines and observes mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems.
  • Inspects or tests damaged machine parts, and marks defective areas or advises supervisors of repair needs.
  • Lubricates or applies adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures.
  • Installs, replaces, or changes machine parts and attachments, according to manufacturer specifications on (critical) machines.
  • Dismantles machines and removes parts for repair, using specified tools.
  • Records production, repair, and machine maintenance information.
  • Reads work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
  • Collaborates with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment.
  • Performs scheduled preventative maintenance.
  • Ability to repair tools and small engines
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints required.
  • Ability to read a tape measure required.
  • Ability to read schematics required
  • 2 + years of prior industrial maintenance experience required.
  • Hydraulic and electrical background experience required.
  • Communication in an industrial environment required.
  • Experience with software, CNC, and PLC is required.
  • Regular, reliable attendance is required.
  • Computer knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other program required.
