Job summary

DIS-TRAN Steel in Eunice, LA is seeking a Maintenance Technician I for the Weekend Shift. This role focuses on industrial maintenance of production equipment, including troubleshooting, disassembly, reassembly, and preventive maintenance.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience, and proficiency with reading blueprints, schematics, and basic software such as Excel, CNC, and PLC systems.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
2+ years of prior industrial maintenance experience required.
Ability to interpret blueprints, read a tape measure, and read schematics required.
Experience with software, CNC, and PLC is required.
Regular, reliable attendance is required.

Responsibilities

Monitors and maintains production equipment with or without direct supervision.
Troubleshoots and repairs minor equipment malfunctions on (critical) machines.
Disassembles machine prior to maintenance work and reassembles after repairs.
Starts machines and observes operation to determine efficiency and detect problems.
Inspects or tests damaged parts and advises on repair needs.
Lubricates or applies materials as per procedures.
Installs or changes machine parts per manufacturer specs.
Dismantles machines and removes parts for repair.
Records maintenance information and works from work orders.
Collaborates with others to repair or move equipment.
Performs scheduled preventive maintenance.
Ability to repair tools and small engines.
