Job summary

United States Cold Storage Inc. is hiring a Maintenance Technician in the Engineering department to support the maintenance and reliability of our cold-chain facilities.

The role requires hands-on work, adherence to safety procedures, and strong documentation of all maintenance activities. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, painting, battery and forklift upkeep, emergency readiness, and assisting with entry-level refrigeration tasks under supervision.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• o Previous maintenance experience preferred.
• o Knowledge of general hand and power tools.
• o Experience with preventative maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide general support to the maintenance department when trained and approved.
• Maintain professionalism and collaborate with facility management and team members.
• Complete painting assignments and work at heights in cold environments.
• Maintain and replace forklift batteries; perform routine inspections.
• Run routine preventive maintenance tasks and log equipment hours.
• Conduct regular building maintenance for cleanliness, safety, and functionality.
• Complete work orders with detailed maintenance documentation.
• Participate in equipment training to safely inspect or repair.
• Support emergency response efforts as required.
• Complete annual emergency response physicals (e.g., lung capacity, hearing).
• Assist with entry-level refrigeration tasks under supervision when trained and certified.
