Job summary

SunOpta seeks a Facility Maintenance Mechanic I to support a 24/7 aseptic beverage plant, focusing on boilers, chillers, HVAC, and production equipment. The role involves preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and collaborating with teammates to minimize downtime.

Qualified candidates will hold a 1st class boiler license or equivalent, and be capable of working a flexible schedule, with 2+ years of related maintenance experience in mechanical, electrical, HVAC or plumbing trades.

Qualifications

• 1st class boilers license is required or plus.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Flexibility to work a rotating schedule and on-call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor boilers and 24/7 facility operations.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment.
• Inspect and service chiller systems, air handling rooms, and production equipment.
• Repair doors, walls, floors and other building components as needed.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and document equipment history.
