Job summary

SunOpta’s Alexandria facility is seeking a Facility Maintenance Mechanic I to maintain boilers, chiller systems, and related equipment in a 24/7 beverage plant. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, support production uptime, and collaborate with teams to ensure safe, compliant operations.

The role requires a 1st class boilers license, high school diploma or GED, and 3–5 years’ related maintenance experience across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing trades.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow written and verbal instruction.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of shop math.
• Knowledge of High-Pressure Boiler Systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC Systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor boiler operation and work in 24/7 environment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility equipment.
• Repair doors, walls, floors, ceilings, and other building duties.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment history files.
• Develop and follow GMP/quality procedures to reduce downtime.
