Job summary

Tigua is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities at multiple land ports of entry in the El Centro, California area. The role requires the ability to pass a government background check and drug screening, and may support a contracted project.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, troubleshooting, preventive inspections, record-keeping, and on-call coverage, including weekends and holidays. Travel between ports is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training preferred.
• 2–3 years’ experience in basic electrical, mechanical, and computer technology experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and structural components.
• Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues to ensure timely and effective resolutions.
• Conduct inspections and monthly preventive maintenance to identify potential problems and mitigate risks.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
• Collaborate with other maintenance staff and contractors to complete projects efficiently.
• Provide emergency response and repairs as needed to minimize downtime and maintain operational integrity.

Education
