Job summary

Seaboard Foods in Oklahoma seeks a maintenance technician to support the upkeep of plant buildings and animal production facilities. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect automated feeds, freshwater, recycling systems, ventilation, and penning to keep operations running smoothly.

The role requires reading work orders, following specifications, using hand and power tools, and performing welding tasks.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or greater; high school diploma or GED preferred, or 1–3 months experience or training.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and work orders; write simple correspondence.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect automated feed systems, freshwater, recycling, cool cells, ventilation, controllers, and penning for animal production facilities.
• Use hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and electrical testing devices.
• Follow work orders and specifications to determine when replacement, repair, or maintenance is required.
• Welding of building equipment including load-out chutes and fabrications of penning or gating.
• Must be on call for emergency situations.

Job Purpose

Assist in maintaining and repairing physical structures of buildings by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities & Tasks

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect, for the following but not limited to automated feeds systems, freshwater systems, recycling systems, cool cells, ventilation, controllers, and penning for animal production facilities sites to ensure operations run efficiently and effectively.


• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.


• Follow work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment require replacement, repair or maintenance.


• Welding of buildings equipment including load out chutes, and fabrications of some penning or gating.


• Must be on call available for emergency situations.

Requirements

• Two-year technical degree or greater, High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months experience or training; or combination of education and experience.

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.


• Must possess a current valid driver's license, acceptable MVR, and ability to pass DOT physical and obtain medical card.
