Job summary

Seaboard Foods in Northwest Iowa is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections of production facility buildings and systems. You will work with a range of tools, read work orders, and be on call for emergencies.

• Two-year technical degree or greater, High school diploma or GED preferred; or 1–3 months of experience or training.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and work orders.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license, acceptable MVR, and ability to pass DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect systems and equipment in animal production facilities.
• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and testing devices.
• Follow work orders and specifications to determine maintenance needs.
• Welding and fabrication of equipment as needed.
• Be on call for emergency situations.

Job description

Job Purpose

Assist in maintaining and repairing physical structures of buildings by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities & Tasks

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect, for the following but not limited to automated feed systems, fresh water wystems, recycle systems, cool cells, ventilation, controllers, and penning for animal production facilities sites to ensure operations run efficiently and effectively.
• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
• Follow work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment require replacement, repair or maintenance.
• Welding of buildings equipment including load out chutes, and fabrications of some penning or gating.
• Must be on call available for emergency situations.

PAY RATE

We offer a competitive pay rate based on your skills and experience related to this position. Our starting compensation for this position in Northwest, IA is $20.50/hr.

Requirements
