Job summary

Seaboard Foods in Oklahoma is seeking a maintenance technician to assist in maintaining and repairing building structures and systems across our animal production facilities.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and support welding and fabrication tasks. The role requires ability to read work orders, apply math concepts, and hold a valid driver's license.

This on-site position offers the opportunity to contribute to efficient operations across our production sites.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or greater or relevant training.
• Ability to read and write simple correspondence and follow work orders.
• Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts to practical tasks.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and pass DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect systems in animal production facilities.
• Use hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and testing devices.
• Follow work orders and specifications to determine maintenance needs.
• Weld buildings equipment and fabricate penning or gating components.
• On-call for emergency situations.

Job Purpose

Assist in maintaining and repairing physical structures of buildings by performing the following duties.

Assist in maintaining and repairing physical structures of buildings by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities & Tasks

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect, for the following but not limited to automated feed systems, freshwater systems, recycle systems, cool cells, ventilation, controllers, and penning for animal production facilities sites to ensure operations run efficiently and effectively.
• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
• Follow work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment require replacement, repair or maintenance.
• Welding of buildings equipment including load out chutes, and fabrications of some penning or gating.
• Must be on call available for emergency situations.

Requirements

• Two-year technical degree or greater, High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months experience or training; or combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and work orders. Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Must possess a current valid driver’s license, acceptable MVR, and ability to pass DOT physical and obtain medical card.
