Job summary

Oakland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a Maintenance Technician to uphold safe, reliable operation of building systems and to support resident comfort and care. Responsibilities include painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical and HVAC tasks, inspecting and repairing equipment, and assisting with preventative maintenance programs while following safety procedures and building codes.

Qualifications

Three years of general maintenance experience required, including painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, or related trades.
HVAC, plumbing, and electrical experience strongly preferred.
Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet-based systems.
Strong knowledge of building equipment, building systems, and applicable building codes.

Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance and repair work including painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and other facility systems.
Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair building equipment and systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Support preventative maintenance programs to reduce equipment downtime and extend system longevity.
Maintain knowledge of building systems, equipment, and applicable building codes and regulations.
Utilize basic computer systems (Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, or similar platforms) to document work orders and communicate updates.
Respond to maintenance requests promptly while prioritizing resident safety and comfort.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety procedures, facility policies, and regulatory standards.
