Job summary

Oakland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a full-time role at our facility. The position involves performing upkeep across painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and HVAC, with a focus on safety and resident comfort.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment, supporting preventative maintenance, and documenting work orders using basic software tools. Strong knowledge of building codes and a proactive, safety-first mindset are required.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of general maintenance experience required.
  • HVAC, plumbing, and electrical experience strongly preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency required, including Word, Excel, and internet-based systems.
  • Strong knowledge of building equipment, building systems, and applicable building codes.

Responsibilities for Maintenance Technician:
  • Perform general maintenance and repair work, including painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and other facility systems.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair building equipment and systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Support preventative maintenance programs to reduce equipment downtime and extend system longevity.
  • Maintain knowledge of building systems, equipment, and applicable building codes and regulations.
  • Utilize basic computer systems (Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, or similar platforms) to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and communicate updates.
  • Respond to maintenance requests promptly while prioritizing resident safety and comfort.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety procedures, facility policies, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications for Maintenance Technician:
  • Three (3) years of general maintenance experience required, including painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, or related trades.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed.
