Bay Harbor Post Acute and Healthcare Center is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our Day Shift team on a full-time basis in Salisbury, Maryland. The role involves routine rounds, minor repairs, and collaboration with staff to keep the facility safe and comfortable for residents.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or equivalent and has at least one year of general maintenance experience, preferably in a skilled nursing setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One or more years of general maintenance experience (painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, or related trades).
• Skilled nursing facility experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of safety procedures and maintenance best practices.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily physical rounds to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Perform minor plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and cosmetic repairs.
• Review maintenance request logs and complete work orders accurately.
• Collaborate with staff to improve resident living spaces and facility environment.
• Assist with furniture moves and general maintenance projects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues promptly to ensure resident safety and comfort.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
