Job summary

NXT Property Management is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join Riverfront Apartments in Salt Lake City. This full-time role offers hands-on maintenance work with clear opportunities for career growth within our expanding company.

You will service HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, drywall, flooring and carpentry, perform preventative maintenance, and coordinate with residents and vendors to keep the property safe, comfortable and attractive.

Qualifications

• Previous apartment maintenance or property maintenance experience required.
• Experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, drywall, flooring, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
• EPA Certification preferred but not required.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and complete work efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Dependable, professional, and willing to take ownership of responsibilities.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Complete apartment turns to prepare homes for new residents.
• Respond to and complete maintenance service requests efficiently and professionally.
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, drywall, flooring, carpentry, and other property-related issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance to identify and address potential problems before they become larger issues.
• Maintain community grounds, amenities, common areas, and overall curb appeal.
• Inspect apartments and building systems to ensure they are safe, functional, and well-maintained.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed for specialized repairs and projects.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work, service requests, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
• Communicate professionally with residents and provide exceptional customer service.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance shop and work environment.
• Follow company policies, safety procedures, and applicable housing and building regulations.
• Participate in an on-call rotation as needed.
• Support the maintenance team and property leadership with special projects and other operational needs.
