Job summary

Seaboard Foods in Bloomfield, IA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team. You will help maintain and repair buildings and equipment across feed systems, water systems, cooling, ventilation, and penning areas for animal production facilities.

The role requires a two-year technical degree (or equivalent), ability to read work orders, perform basic math, and operate standard tools. Valid driver's license and DOT medical card are required.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions and work orders.
• Apply mathematical concepts to practical tasks.
• Interpret a variety of written, oral, diagram or schedule form instructions.
• Possess a current valid driver’s license and ability to pass DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect systems (feed, water, recycle, cooling, ventilation, controllers, penning).
• Use hand and power tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Follow work orders and specifications to determine replacement or maintenance needs.
• Welding of buildings equipment and fabrications for penning or gating.
• Be on call for emergency situations.
