Job summary

Seaboard Foods is seeking a maintenance technician to support animal production facilities across Northwest Iowa. The role involves preventive maintenance, repairs, installations, and inspections of feed, water, recycling, cooling, and ventilation systems, plus welding and fabrications as needed.

The candidate should have a two-year technical degree or higher (or equivalent experience), with a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a DOT medical card.

Qualifications

• Reading and writing simple instructions and work orders.
• Ability to apply mathematics to practical tasks.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and pass a DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect feed systems, water systems, recycling systems, cooling cells, ventilation, controllers, and penning for animal production facilities.
• Use tools from hand and power to precision measuring instruments and testing devices.
• Follow work orders and specifications to determine replacement or maintenance needs.
• Welding of building equipment including load-out chutes and fabri­cations of penning or gating.
• Must be on call for emergency situations.
