Job summary

Smithfield Foods is hiring a Maintenance Technician to keep our food-processing plant running smoothly. You will troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems, read blueprints, and perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.

You’ll work with welding, fabrication, and pipe systems, ensuring safety and GMP compliance in a fast-paced environment. The role requires 1+ years in industrial maintenance or 4 years of related experience, with a high school diploma or GED; vocational

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 1+ years in industrial mechanical maintenance or 4 years in related field.
• Technical diploma/associate degree from a technical school preferred.
• Ability to read and execute work orders and equipment manuals; follow safety procedures and GMPs.

Responsibilities

• Review work orders, assess tools, time, and parts needed; create/track work orders in SAP.
• Perform hands-on maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment; troubleshoot and test repairs.
• Disassemble, replace parts, weld, fabricate as needed; conduct preventive maintenance on pumps, packaging, and slicing equipment.
