Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our plant running smoothly in a fast-paced food processing environment. You’ll troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and fabricate replacement parts as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with 1+ year of related experience, or 4 years in an industrial maintenance setting. A technical diploma is preferred and relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1+ years of related experience or 4 years in industrial maintenance.
• Technical diploma or associate degree preferred.
• Ability to work in a team and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Review work orders, assess tools and parts; use SAP to create work orders and respond to emergencies.
• Monitor machinery, troubleshoot, disassemble, replace faulty parts and test functionality.
• Install and maintain mechanical equipment, piping and electrical controls, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and use hand tools for repairs and fabrication.
• Follow safety protocols including LOCKOUT/TAGOUT and GMPs.
