Job summary

Smithfield Packaged Meats Corp seeks a Maintenance Technician to keep our food processing plant running smoothly. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical systems, welding, fabrication, and related equipment in a fast-paced environment.

You will read blueprints, interpret manuals, and work with a variety of tools. The role includes preventive maintenance and responding to emergencies, with relocation options available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Education and experience requirements in an industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing environment.
• Able to operate forklifts or similar material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Review work orders and prepare tools, equipment, and parts for tasks in a fast-paced plant.
• Create work orders in SAP and respond to emergency calls with appropriate tools.
• Read blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals to diagnose and repair issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on pumps, packaging, and slicing equipment to prevent downtime.
• Install and maintain mechanical and electrical systems, piping, and utilities.
• Disassemble, troubleshoot, replace parts, and test equipment for proper function.
