Job summary

Smithfield is hiring a Maintenance Technician to keep our plant running smoothly in a fast-paced food processing environment. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical systems, applying welding and fabrication skills as needed to keep production on track.

The role requires reading blueprints and schematics, using SAP for work orders, and following strict safety protocols to support a safe, compliant plant.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1+ years of related maintenance experience.
• Vocational/Technical diploma or associate degree preferred.
• Team player with ability to follow safety protocols and orders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment in a fast-paced food processing plant.
• Read blueprints and schematics to diagnose issues; repair and test systems.
• Disassemble, replace parts, weld, cut and fabricate as needed for repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance on pumps, packaging, slicing equipment, and other systems.
• Install and maintain mechanical, electrical, and piping systems per specs and safety rules.
• Use SAP to review and create work orders; respond to emergencies quickly.
• Adhere to LOCKOUT/TAGOUT and GMPs to ensure a safe, compliant operation.
