Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center in Norfolk is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our inpatient extended care rehab facility. You’ll inspect facilities, assist with renovations, troubleshoot technical issues, and perform daily custodial duties to keep the campus safe and welcoming.

We value reliable, hands-on workers who can multitask and solve problems. A High School diploma or GED is preferred, and sobriety is required if you are in recovery.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• If in recovery, a minimum one-year period of sustained sobriety is required.
• Innovative, strong worker with ability to problem solve and multitask.
• General knowledge of carpentry and repair.

Responsibilities

• Regularly inspect facility, equipment and property for defects.
• Assist with any building renovations/ repairs, interior and exterior.
• Assist with any technical difficulties (video calls, internet service, equipment maintenance).
• Perform outside custodial duties (gardening, snow removal, etc.).
