Job summary

Saint-Gobain is seeking a Maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on production machinery and facilities. You will diagnose problems, use hand and power tools, and follow safety procedures.

You will read schematics, maintain logs, assist in moving equipment, and support continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in Travelers Rest, SC.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret blueprints, charts, and specifications.
• Experience with electrical and mechanical diagnoses and repair.
• Familiarity with shop math and precision measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Respond to operational difficulties using hand and power tools.
• Diagnose, dismantle and repair equipment; test runs to ensure proper operation.
• Develop and follow a preventative maintenance program for equipment.
• Perform building repairs ( carpentry, masonry, welding, painting, plumbing, electrical).
• Assist in moving and installing equipment; manage hazardous materials handling.
• Maintain logs of work performed and materials used; follow safety rules.
