Job summary

Zekelman Industries, a leading North American steel pipe and tube manufacturer, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to repair and rebuild tube mill production equipment. You will maximize equipment quality, uptime, rate, and yield while following safety procedures.

Ideal candidates have strong electrical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to diagnose both electrical and mechanical issues.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years in heavy manufacturing, maintenance preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and reading technical drawings.
• Familiarity with electrical systems and PLCs.
• Ability to pass drug screening and safety testing.
• Excellent communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical maintenance on equipment following safety procedures.
• Ensure guards and safety equipment are in place before return to operators.
• Read blueprints, manuals, and schematics to diagnose and repair equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and quality issues; escalate when needed.
• Carry out breakdown repairs and preventive maintenance on production equipment.
• Operate cranes and forklifts as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment per safety regulations.
