Qualifications

Immediately hiring a Permanent Full-Time Senior Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Atlanta, Georgia.

Benefits and Compensation
  • Technician roles pay weekly
  • Hourly pay: $33.56 per hour
  • Certification bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification, up to $700
  • Quarterly bonus: up to $500 four times per year
  • Sign-on bonus: $1,750 at 30 days and $1,750 at 90 days
  • Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday
  • Hours: Second shift, Monday 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • At least 3 years relevant work experience preferred
  • Valid CDL Class A preferred
  • All location-specific certifications required
Additional Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years experience with heavy and medium-duty equipment repairs and diagnostics
  • Knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
Driving Requirements

This position requires driving Ryder vehicles. You must:

  • Obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
  • Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, background, and motor vehicle check
Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs, including preventive maintenance and diagnostics
  • Work independently on most tasks
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
  • Utilize shop management systems and documentation
  • Comply with safety and regulatory guidelines
  • Mentor junior technicians
  • Access and use maintenance documents
  • Support operations as needed, including service island support
  • Complete OEM diagnostic courses as required
