General Responsibilities

The Maintenance Technician will ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies and support TPM and Lean processes. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing the TPM process while supporting production to ensure efficient operations and continual improvement.

Job Duties / Essential Functions

• Perform preventative maintenance and calibration on assigned equipment and instrumentation
• Troubleshoot and repair six‑axis robotics and pick-and-place robotics
• Electrical troubleshooting including PLCs using discreet and analog inputs/outputs
• Troubleshoot and repair modern injection molding machines (hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and computer‑based issues)
• Troubleshoot and repair material conveying systems
• Operate man lifts to a height of up to 30 feet
• Identify sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring/testing instruments
• Remove defective parts by dismantling devices with hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools, and inspect parts
• Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts with rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
• Diagnose and repair electrical and pneumatic control system problems on production machinery, auxiliary equipment, and fixtures
• Communicate with supervisor and production personnel to ensure efficient operations
• Assist with set up and tear down of packaging line

Minimum Requirements

• Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings
• Knowledge of computer components, installation and configuration
• Strong mechanical skills with the ability to interpret mechanical drawings for disassembly/reassembly
• Knowledge of how PLCs work
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Physically able to bend, squat, twist, push/pull, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in small spaces (as small as 2 ft x 2 ft)
• Own a roll-around tool box with a mechanic’s tool assortment
• 1 to 3 years of job-related troubleshooting experience
• Injection molding experience preferred
• PLC experience preferred but not required
