Job summary

Newell Brands in Ohio is seeking a manufacturing maintenance technician to perform preventative maintenance and calibration on injection molding equipment. You will coordinate maintenance activities within the asset team and help develop leadership and teamwork.

The role requires hands-on troubleshooting of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, reading prints, strong communication, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment while adhering to PPE and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Troubleshoot injection molding machinery and related equipment.
  • Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints.
  • Proficient in MS Office and basic computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and working in confined spaces.
  • Lift Truck certification preferred or willing to become certified.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and calibration on assigned equipment and instrumentation.
  • Complete documentation for preventative maintenance and various work sheets.
  • Coordinate and schedule maintenance activities.

  • Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic control system problems on injection molding machinery and fixtures.
  • Plan, layout, and install electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems for new equipment.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY

Perform preventative maintenance and calibration on assigned equipment and instrumentation. Assist in coordinating and scheduling of all maintenance activities within the asset team. Develop and promote leadership, training, and teamwork within the team.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance and calibration on assigned equipment and instrumentation.
  • Completing documentation for preventative maintenance and various work sheets related to injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Assist in coordinating and scheduling all maintenance activities.
  • Develop and promote leadership and teamwork within the team.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic control system problems on injection molding machinery, auxiliary equipment and fixtures.
  • Plan, layout and install electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in support of the fabrication and installation of new equipment and fixtures.
  • Communicate with Maintenance, Process, and Production Supervisors to ensure efficient operations.
  • Training and assisting of maintenance personnel within the team.
  • Interact with Maintenance, Process, Production, and PIC groups for scheduling of downtime within asset team for corrective maintenance.
  • Interact with outside sources to improve or repair equipment or processes.
  • Document any changes made to control circuitry, hydraulics, or mechanical functions from OEM standard and forward to Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Interact with Central Stores in maintaining and determining stock levels on parts for all equipment.
  • Research and request parts for all equipment within asset team.
  • Daily Housekeeping on production floor and maintenance areas.
  • Maintaining all company owned equipment and tools assigned to asset team.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Job related experience with troubleshooting injection molding machinery and auxiliary equipment of three to five years or more.
  • Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office.)
  • Excellent communication skills a must, both verbal and written.
  • Physically able to bend, squat, twist, push/pull, reach and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform duties in confined spaces
  • Lift Truck certified (preferred but not necessary). If not certified in Lift Truck, must become certified in reasonable amount of time
  • Must wear/use all required PPE, to include, but not limited to, safety glasses, hearing protection, mechanics gloves (when required), steel toe boots, etc.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Attention to detail and organization is critical
